Very sad for our family...

My dear sweet Grandma had another stroke Wednesday night and is not doing well. We believe after speaking with her doctor that she will only have a few more days here with us. She cannot speak, eat or drink but does recognize me and responds to a few questions with a shake or nod of her head. Our main efforts now are to keep her comfortable -- God bless the nursing home staff and hospice for all their care and concerns.

Her is a picture of her July 8th on her 93rd birthday....

A Little Hectic this week...

I'm doing the low-iodine diet for my body scan to check for recurrence of thyroid cancer -- have to do this every year.  I want MILK!

Since I got a new bike -- I HAD to get 'Pedaling Past'.
I used Peach Parfait DSP, NQN and Pear Pizzazz -- enjoy....

New Owl Punch--- LOVE IT!!!!!

Here's a card I made using the new Owl Punch. So simple and so versatile...

Supplies:
No Stamps
Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Chocolate Chip, Concord Crush, Naturals White, DSP In Color Patterns

I used the Owl Punch, the 2-step Bird punch and the Bigshot to cut out the letters.  What you don't see inside
is the rest of the phrase...'are you?' A reference to The Who song.

Another new stamp set...

Here's another card I made using my new stamps and inks.  The background is yellow and it kind of detracts from the card -- I have to figure out the best way to take pictures.
I deliberately left the ribbon long and swirly to complement the design in the DSP.  Hope you like it.

Supplies:
Stamps: Studio Sketches
Ink and Paper: Early Espresso, cherry cobbler, pear pizzazz, Elegant Soiree DSP
Other: Early Espresso 1/4" Ribbon, plus so Non SU Ribbon, Cherry Cobbler Button

Saturday Play Time

I finally made it downstairs to the craft room and played with all my new paper, stamps, punches and inks!!!!!

So much fun, although the puppies were ready to roll at first, they soon grew tired of no attention from Aunt Jacklyn.  So, half way through, up we came for a potty break and dinner.

I made several cards -- tried a vintage look to a couple, but I'm not sure I really succeeded.

Card 1 - First try at vintage. Not my favorite -- should have stayed with the same color palette instead of adding the pinks and blue...

Supplies:
Stamps: Morning Cup
Paper and Ink: Crumb Cake, DSP - To the Nines (old but I need to use it), Sage Shadow (again it's retired, I don't ever remember using it, but I liked this paper), Naturals White.
I sponged the edges of the paper with Early Espresso Ink, I also used So Saffron, Bravo Burgundy, Regal Rose and Bordering Blue markers.
Other: Scallop Edge Punch

My order arrived!

I'm so excited -- lots of pretties -- although its amazing what you don't have for the amount of money you spent and the stuff you did buy. Finally got my hands on the new In-Color Ink Pads and a pack of paper for each color. Ribbon in all the In-Colors, Buttons in the 4 color groups, DSP, a 12x12 red polka dot album, the two new embossing folders, the Owl Punch,  and STAMPS!
This weekend can't come soon enough -- only one more day....and if I wasn't just back from vacation and then off Monday for dental surgery I'd be feeling sick right about now!

Back to cards -- here's one I made with the previous 'New' stuff.

The card was for a friend at work -- his birthday was while I was on vacation so the new set 'Longfellows' was perfect for a Belated Birthday Card

Supplies:
Stamps: Longfellows
Paper and Ink: Wild Wasabi, River Rock and Black
Other: SU Brads, Embossing Folder (non SU)

Nothing new....

Ok, so I'm on vacation and should be stamp, stamp, stamping but I'm trying to get some chores completed first. I'm heading to the basement tomorrow to re-organize the craft area and will be making some cards (at least one for Grandma's 93rd Birthday!) and will post then....

and on that note....my Grandma will be 93 years old tomorrow! Happy Birthday Ethel!

I also just picked up my new bike and have discovered I can still ride a bike -- but my subdivison is not as flat as I thought it was... so here's a picture of my adorable Grandma and my new bike...

Clapton Concert!!!!!

Last night, my sister and I went to Riverbend to see Roger Daltrey and Eric Clapton. What an absolute blast! Daltrey opened and played for about 50 minutes and then Eric came on and wowed the crowd with his incredible guitar playing!
