Merry Christmas

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and spent time with their family and friends.  My sister and I had a wonderful Christmas and I am very blessed to have her in my life.  Of course, Howard and Abby were very good kids and Santa Claus was very good to them. I'll post some pictures later, but for now its back to work.  At least its a short week!

Christmas Cards from our Stamp-A-Stack

Jen and I attended a Christmas Card making workshop held by our friend Sariela.  All designs are hers -- I just copied and made the cards -- which I think are beautiful.  Hope you enjoy.

Christmas Trees

I saw these in ScrapbooksEtc magazine and knew I wanted to try to make them.  I think they're adorable and pretty simple to make.

Long time, no posts

I think I can safely say I'm home for the rest of the year -- just in time for the rush of the holidays!

Here are the last pictures from the Shoebox Swap back in October.  I can't believe I didn't have time to post them.  Since then I've also had a weekend scrapbook retreat and a Stamp A Stack of Christmas cards.  I'll try to get pictures and post them this week.

Loved the SU tinsel -- didn't think I would - but it's a MUST have.

Cards from the Shoebox Swap

Wow - I can't believe it's already November.  I've been in Kansas for a week and am back to West Palm Beach next week.  Here are a few more cards from the Shoebox Swap in October.  Again, I didn't design the cards -- I did make them -- but they are beautiful and wanted to share.

Stuck in Palm Beach

So, I'm finishing up a business trip to West Palm Beach, Florida with flight out at 5:25pm today, and what happens -- a severe storm in Atlanta -- right now we're looking at an 8:30 departure.... so far, they're holding my connecting flight to Dayton -- backing it up to 10:46.  Since I'm stuck and tired of working, I thought I'd post a couple more cards made at the Shoe Box Swap.  I didn't design the cards just made them and do not have the name of the creator.

Home again

I'm home after 2 weeks in Wichita, Kansas.  What a beautiful city and state.  The weather was great -- mid to upper 70's and the bluest sky ever.  I'm home for a week and promise to get some new Stampin' Stuff loaded.  My sister and I were at a Scrapbook weekend and I have some pages to share as well.  We had such a great time and got a lot accomplished.

Not in Kansas anymore

I'm finally back home after a week in Kansas -- beautiful weather and GREAT people!  I attended a Shoebox swap today and have 20 great cards -- all SU to share!  I'll try to load those pictures tomorrow as I'm headed back to Kansas Monday evening for the week.

World Card Making Day

It's a beautiful Saturday --sun is shining, a little nip in the air and the puppy dogs are having a mid morning nap.
Planning on designing our cards for next weekends Shoebox Swap -- pictures later.

We're also working on getting pictures and 'stuff' ready for our scrapbooking weekend October 16th.

Happy Birthday, Happy Owls

Wow this week has just flown by and I haven't had a chance to do any stamping. This is a card I made for a friend's birthday a couple weeks ago -- its a picture from my cell phone -- I forgot to take a picture before I left for work so the quality is not the best.

I used Night of Navy, Cajun Craze and White.  Jennifer created the guitars by using the vest from the Owl Punch and then free-handing the rest.

Finally, as promised

These are the cards from the classes I took over the weekend. All stamps are Unity Stamps, I believe the paper is Jillibean and the instructor was Kimber McGray.  I really enjoyed trying some new things and stamping with other stampers.  Jen and I are going to a Shoebox Swap on October 9th - all Stampin' Up with 19 participants and the following weekend we're going on a Scrapbook Weekend!

Good Morning

What a beautiful day -- I love Fall  -- the little nip in the air, the crunch of leaves on the ground, the colors...

We settled for bed around 11 -- Abby in her place in my bed and Howard under the bed -- all normal, then Howard decided to come out from under the bed -- so Abby growled like always -- she was kicked out and Howard invited up.  I thought that was settled until she popped up over the side of the bed -- so I 'slept' with both dogs in bed with me last night -- back to the crates tonight!

Great Saturday

Jen and I attended 2 classes today at our local scrapbook store held by Kimber McGray. We made 6 Christmas cards in the morning and 6 everyday cards in the afternoon.  I'll try to get some pictures and post them tomorrow.  What a fun day!

Happy Birthday Howard

Today is Howard's 11th birthday! He is still a very good squirrel chaser, dolly player, and all round good boy!

Remembering...

Together we pause to remember the victims, to grieve with the families and friends of those who died, and to honor the heroes of that day and each day since who have sacrificed to save lives and serve their country.  I can still remember that day so vividly.

Finally...

got some stamping done this long weekend.  Jen and Rob were on a cruise to the Cayman Islands and I had big plans to get some stuff done -- but as the old saying goes...'best laid plans....'. I did sort out my filing cabinet -- amazing how much junk accumulates and kept up with the basic chores.  I haven't snapped any pictures of my cards yet -- I'll do that tomorrow and post then too. I don't want to go back to work :-(!

Playing with blog design

I wanted to try something a little different -- what do you think?

Paper Craft Case

I saw this lay out in Paper Craft magazine and I decided I'd give it a try. I changed up all the colors -- I used some retired DSP - Georgia Peach I bought on the clearance rack at SU.  Love to get a bargain -- especially DSP!!!

Supplies:
No stamping..... Georgia Peach DSP -- So Saffron base layer and petals. Old Olive Ribbon and Silver Brads.
I used 2 punches to create the flowers -- they used a book -- I just couldn't bring myself to cut up a book -- even though I had bought one for a dollar at Target -- so I found a puzzle magazine and stamped out the flowers in the 'answer' section.  I then used a Bubblegum Color Spritz Spray and jewel brad for the center.

Back to business....

Well things have certainly been hectic and sad for me. As many of you know, my Grandma died on July 26th and even though I know she had a wonderful 93 years I think of her and miss her every day.  So, once I was back at work I had to finish up a project before switching to a new team and that included a trip to Cleveland.  This is the first weekend I've been home for about 3 weeks and I have been stamping today. I'll take pictures tomorrow during the daylight hours -- going to try to get a better image.  I'm happy with some and not so with others. I have been exploring a couple local scrapbook stores -- which means I've been playing with some non SU products! I'll post tomorrow.... it's good to be back!
